  1. Hi Tim,

My wife Becky and I have been growing and canning now for the last 4 years here in Augusta, GA. We are constantly looking for ideas to become self sustaining in more areas of our lives. It is a process and we've learned so much. This year we decided to go with using just strictly compost for a fert. It has done very well from what it appears. I would love to correspond with you more and I'll try and send some pics of our place. My wife is more the pic taker than I though.

It's been a lot of hard work as you well know, but oh the rewards are priceless aren't they? We cann our greenbeens and tomato's. We make a Fire Roasted Salsa that is off the chain. We also make our own Fire Roasted Marinara Sauce. We are growing spring, summer and fall at the moment. We are thinking of using a little more structure and making it totally raised beds and doing the square foot method. They say you can increase your harvest psf. I'm interested in that for sure.

Anyway, just wanted to reach out to you. I'm in the process of building a coop too.
I'll send some pics if you give me your email?
