I have always heard you should always carry a camera with you. Today I know why. We were walking out back towards the chicken coop and saw Mozelle, our bantam hen, kind of acting funny so naturally we investigated. All of a sudden she starts to lay an egg right in front of us. All the years I have raised chickens and probably the thousands of eggs we have gathered I never saw one of my hens lay an egg.
Now that was awesome. I just wish I had my video camera with me at the time.
Crooked Plum Farm is a small city farm on 1/3 of an acre. This is a journal about our progress of moving our family to a simpler life. We are located in North Texas Zone 7. We are currently raising 4 children, 10 chickens, 3 ducks, 2 cats and a dog.
